Early access, full release, playtest – what the terms mean

Many extraction shooters launch in early access first: playable and paid, but still in development, with wipes and larger changes until it’s finished. The full release (version 1.0) is the actual launch – for titles coming out of early access, often years later and with its own date. A playtest is a time-limited trial, usually free and sign-up only, sometimes under NDA; it says little about the real release date.

Release dates in this genre slip more often than elsewhere – small studios, live-service tech, console certification. “Q3 2026” or “2026” means the studio is deliberately naming only a window. Specific day-level dates without an official announcement are estimates here.

How this calendar is put together

Every date comes from an official source – patch notes, dev blogs and studio announcements. Where a source exists, the “Source” link goes straight to it, and “checked” shows when we last verified the entry against it.

When a date isn’t official yet, we add an estimate – usually derived from a game’s past cadence – and flag it visibly as “estimate”. For those entries, trust the rough window, not the exact day. This is an editorially maintained overview, not a live data feed; if in doubt, the official announcement wins.
