ARC Raiders comes from Embark Studios, the team behind The Finals, and has turned into one of the most successful extraction-genre launches in years since it released at the end of October 2025. Instead of fighting mainly human factions, players face the ARC: aggressive, AI-controlled robots that roam a post-apocalyptic Earth. PvP encounters with other Raiders remain possible at any time though.
The third-person perspective, an accessible entry price around 40 dollars with no subscription, and a noticeably less punishing wipe and loss system than the genre's hardcore pioneers all lower the barrier to entry. Embark also introduced aggro-based matchmaking with update 1.36, steering PvP-heavy and PvE-focused players toward separate experiences. It's a compromise that's still being debated in the community.
