You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority regarding our processing of your personal data (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority is that of the German federal state in which you reside, or the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW), which is responsible for our registered address.
3. Hosting
This website is hosted by a commercial hosting provider with servers located in Germany. On our behalf, the provider processes server log files and data entered on this website. A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is in place with the hosting provider.
Server log files
The provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits to us automatically. This includes:
- Browser type and version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Hostname of the accessing device
- Time of the server request
- IP address (shortened/anonymized where applicable)
This data is not merged with other data sources. It is collected on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and security of our website).
SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser's address bar changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock icon in your browser bar.
4. Cookies and consent
Cookies are small text files that may be stored on your device. Where any of the services described below use cookies or comparable technologies that are not strictly technically necessary, we obtain your consent in advance via a consent management tool. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, or adjust your choices via the consent banner.
5. Web analytics with Matomo
This website uses the open-source web analytics service Matomo to evaluate usage statistics (e.g. page views, approximate time on page, filter criteria used) and to continuously improve our offering.
Important: Matomo is self-hosted by us. All data is processed exclusively on servers located in Germany and is never shared with Matomo as a company, with Google, or with any other third party, domestically or abroad. No data is transferred to a third country (e.g. the USA).
Matomo is configured to run without cookies: no tracking cookies are set, IP addresses are shortened/anonymized, and no cross-site tracking takes place. For this reason, processing is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) in anonymized audience measurement, without requiring separate consent.
Data collected via Matomo is not used to personally identify you and is not merged with personal data from other sources.
6. Fonts (Web Fonts)
This website uses web fonts for a consistent display of typefaces. All fonts used are hosted locally on our own server. There is no connection to Google servers or other third-party providers, as would otherwise be the case with the standard integration of Google Fonts. No IP address is transmitted to external font providers when this website is accessed.
7. Embedded YouTube videos
On individual subpages (game detail views), we embed trailer videos from YouTube. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (domain "youtube-nocookie.com"). According to the provider, this mode ensures that YouTube does not store cookies for ad personalization unless the video is played.
However, as soon as you actively start an embedded video, a connection to YouTube's servers (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC, USA) is established, transmitting your IP address and potentially further device- and browser-related data. This occurs regardless of whether you have a Google account or are logged in. This data transfer is outside of our control.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you can grant or withdraw via our consent tool. Further information on how user data is handled can be found in Google's Privacy Policy.
8. Contact form
If you send us inquiries via the contact form, the details you provide in the inquiry form, including the contact data you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing your inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not share this data without your consent.
This data is processed on the basis of the consent you give in the form (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in responding to your inquiry (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
Data entered in the contact form remains with us until you ask us to delete it, you withdraw your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. once your inquiry has been fully processed). Mandatory statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy to ensure it always complies with current legal requirements, or to reflect changes to our services in the privacy policy. Your renewed visit is then subject to the new privacy policy.
