Following the discontinuation of the original DMZ mode in Modern Warfare II, Activision/Infinity Ward appears to be planning a revival of the extraction mode within Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Details on scope and differences from its predecessor remain limited so far.
Modern Warfare 4's regular release is expected around October 2026. Whether and in what form DMZ will be included at launch or added later remains an open question until then.
