Rules of Engagement: The Grey State sets its horror extraction shooter within the so-called Horrorverse, deliberately emphasizing build-crafting over pure aim. Gear and ability combinations are meant to matter more for success than raw marksmanship, playable solo or in three-player squads.
Developer Grey State Studio, a Tencent subsidiary, announced the game in October 2025. A 2026 release is the target, though a firm date is still pending. The free-to-play model is confirmed.
