Hyenas

Hyenas was a space-pirate extraction shooter from Creative Assembly, known for Total War and Alien: Isolation, announced in June 2022 under publisher Sega. Teams of three players, playing as Hyenas, were meant to board heavily guarded cargo ships called Plunderships to steal loot and pop-culture collectibles. Despite a Gamescom showing and a completed closed beta in September 2023, the game was abruptly cancelled at the end of September 2023. Sega cited declining profitability in the European market. Hyenas therefore never had a proper release, standing as an example of an extraction project halted just short of the finish line despite visible progress.
