Matter Team has released Update 0.4.0.195, the biggest patch since Active Matter launched: less inventory hassle, no more dropped magazines on reload and tamer monster swarms.

Together with last week's activity report, the studio is making it clear it is not standing still after launch.

Reloading without losing magazines

When you reload, your operator now pulls a magazine from the rig first and only then from the backpack. The removed magazine no longer drops to the ground now and then, and pressing reload again no longer cancels the reload.

More weapon changes:

  • Visual recoil when aiming was adjusted, so the sight no longer blocks your view during full-auto fire.
  • Open-bolt weapons no longer keep a round chambered.
  • Several scopes and red dots changed size, and variable magnification no longer drops below base magnification.
  • New options for constant ADS zoom and aiming speed independent of field of view.

Monsters in waves and a device to deal with them

In large monster concentrations, enemies now spawn less often and in waves. There is also a dedicated device for clearing those concentrations out. If the big nests drove you mad before, you will notice right away.

Less hassle with gear and the Shelter

  • Swap a backpack or secure container at the Shelter and its contents move over automatically. Anything that does not fit goes to the stash.
  • Loadout templates no longer strip attachments: scope, grip and magazine stay on the weapon.
  • The Missions Terminal can now filter raids by type: Open, Isolated and Hired Ops.
  • The camera no longer clips through the weapon when aiming prone.

Already before: mouse and keyboard on console

In its October 9 activity report, Matter Team summed up what has changed since launch. The highlights:

  • Mouse and keyboard on consoles: controller players are not matched against mouse players.
  • Less motion sickness: a setting to reduce walking camera sway, less distortion at portals and post-explosion double vision cut in half.
  • Fundamental Protocol: since September 24, Merits can be spent outside an active Harmonization Cycle.

FAQ

Does Active Matter support mouse and keyboard on PS5 and Xbox?

Yes. Console matchmaking keeps controller and mouse players apart.

What is the Fundamental Protocol?

A permanent Cycle 0 where you can trade Merits for rewards at any time. It unlocks at Monolith access level DELTA.

Do I still lose magazines when reloading?

No. Since Update 0.4.0.195, removed magazines no longer fall to the ground.
