Battlestate Games has switched on a new competitive system in Escape from Tarkov: Leagues, weekly leaderboards for Seasonal characters.

If you love stacking raid after raid, you now get a direct comparison with 49 other players at your rank, every single week.

How Leagues work

Leagues are only available for Seasonal characters, meaning the current Kord Breach season. After your first raid, you are placed in a group of 50 players of your rank, and each group has its own leaderboard.

What counts is the experience you earn during the week. That includes:

  • kills on PMCs, Scavs and Bosses
  • completed tasks
  • examining items and other experience sources

Experience from EFT: Arena does not count towards Leagues, though your character still gets it.

Promotion, staying put, relegation

At the end of each week the tables are settled. The rules are simple and unforgiving:

  • Places 1 to 25: rank up.
  • Places 26 to 40: stay where they are.
  • Places 41 to 50: get demoted.

So half of every group moves up each week. Casual players will still mostly end up mid-table, because in the end playtime wins.

Rewards are permanent

The first time you reach a new rank you get its reward, and it stays yours even if you drop down later. Rewards work in every mode, although in-game mail can deliver them to PvP and PvE with a delay.

One catch: if a Seasonal character's progress is reset, you also lose your current rank and all experience earned that week.

Fixes in the same update

Leagues came with a batch of fixes. The most noticeable ones:

  • Transitions between locations could become unavailable after several transits, sometimes with lost task progress. Fixed.
  • With magnified optics at higher FOV, bullets landed noticeably above the reticle. Fixed.
  • A performance drop when aiming through red dots or iron sights on hybrid optics like the ELCAN SpecterDR. Fixed.
  • Wrong prices when selling ammo packs to traders. Fixed.
  • Several visual issues on Lighthouse, fitting after the Lighthouse rebuild in Patch 1.1.5.0. Fixed.
