Update 10 for SAND: Raiders of Sophie is live, and it adds a mechanic that turns aggressive trampler hunters into open targets.
Wreck enough enemy tramplers in a single expedition and your crew picks up the new "Threat" status, lit up for every other player in the session.
The "Threat" status: when you become a target
If a crew destroys a set number of enemy tramplers in one expedition, the game marks it as a "Threat". It targets players who spend a whole session rolling from trampler to trampler and never extract.
The threshold depends on party size:
- Solo expeditions: 2 destroyed tramplers
- Duo, Small Crews and Large Crews: 3 destroyed tramplers
If the team captured other tramplers along the way, all of those tramplers carry the mark as well. Every other player in the session can see it, so a flagged crew stands out for half the map.
How to lose the status again
- Lose every trampler tied to that crew
- Extract
- Use a radio in the municipality building
Matchmaking: new players stay among themselves at first
For the first few matches, new players are now matched with other new players. It is meant to soften a start where newcomers could drop straight into lobbies with practiced crews and fully kitted tramplers. Updates 8 and 9 already reworked matchmaking and trampler combat.
Reports now come with a number
After you report a player, the game shows a report number. You can use it to pass extra details about a case through Discord or Customer Care. The studio still will not share the outcome of a report.
What Update 10 fixes
The most important fix is on the Voyage servers. One of the main reasons they would crash over time is gone: certain game objects and colliders kept pushing memory usage and the physics engine's workload higher and higher.
A batch of smaller fixes rounds it out:
- Ammo type could not be changed in the Outlaw control scheme while the weapon was not fully loaded
- The camera would get corrupted when interacting with a Turret or Control Panel if an Orbital Strike had been used before. Happened with Smuggler weapon handling Mode enabled
- Uncommon ammo could not be loaded into the slots of the Experimental 80 mm turret
- Loaded ammo would disappear after packing a turret with a full inventory slot
- Low Heat 40 mm Turret Ammo could not be extracted
- Fall damage was incorrectly applied when rejoining the game after a disconnect
- The game would freeze briefly when closing the Players List
Known issues
Hologryph lists eleven open problems for Update 10:
- Graphical issues and artifacts on Intel GPUs
- The character cannot enter the expedition if the invite was accepted over the tutorial pop-up background
- Items are sometimes shown inside the character's body
- Large items float around the character
- The character takes no melee damage while interacting with turrets or the steering wheel
- Bullets can pass through the character on a speed-boosted trampler
- The shotgun might not deal damage at close range
- Ironclads can be triggered multiple times by reentering the trigger area
- Blueprints cannot be deleted
- The character can become occluded in some cases
- The character's hands are "broken" while carrying energy rods
Quick questions
How many trampler kills make me a "Threat"?
Two destroyed tramplers in solo, three in duo and every crew size.
How do I get rid of the status?
By extracting, by losing every trampler tied to your crew, or by using the radio in the municipality building.
Does Update 10 do anything for server stability?
Yes. One main cause of the Voyage servers filling up and crashing over time has been fixed.
The new status goes to work on the dunes now. If you have already run an expedition as a marked Threat, the game's Steam forums and Discord are the place to share how it played out.
