It is official: Update 0.5 Rogue Ops for Gray Zone Warfare launches on October 22, and Supporter Edition owners get in from October 19.

Rogue Ops takes the game out of pre-alpha, and for the first time it comes with a soft wipe instead of a full reset.

From PMC to rogue operator

At the heart of Rogue Ops is a brand-new gameplay loop built around your own Hideout and crafting. On top of that, you can go rogue and take part in new smuggling activities. Just like the last big update, Spearhead, MADFINGER is also promising a long list of community-requested improvements, new weapons and huge new locations.

Soft wipe: what stays, what goes

If you played Update 0.4, you will not be starting from zero:

  • Stays: rank, unlocked apparel, vendor levels and completed tasks.
  • Goes: your locker contents and your money.

The first time you launch 0.5, you have to choose whether your existing progress moves to PvE or PvEvP. That choice is final. In return, 0.5 lets you create up to four characters, each with its own mode and faction.

The road to release

  • Devlog series: three parts covering community requests, new content and new features.
  • October 19: Q&A livestream with the dev team and the start of the Supporter Preview.
  • October 22: release with a launch stream, an in-game event with guests and Twitch Drops.

Progress made in the Supporter Preview carries over to the full release. To go with that, Gray Zone Warfare is 33 percent off until October 8 at 10 AM PDT. MADFINGER calls it the last chance to grab the Supporter Edition for less before the preview begins.
