In NAKWON: LAST PARADISE you start out living in a shipping container and might end up in a house with big windows.
The fourth NAKWON Note shows how your shelter grows with your citizen status, and why furniture is more than decoration.
From container to a room with a view
NAKWON is the last habitable island in Seoul, a survivor city built on Yeouido in the Han River. At night you cross the river to scavenge among the infected and other survivors, and in the morning you head back through the checkpoint. At the end of that journey is your shelter.
How well you live depends on your Citizen Status:
- you start in a single shipping container
- then a semi-basement unit
- later an above-ground floor in a run-down low-rise
- and finally a house with large windows
Every move gives you more room for furniture and decoration.
Loot as a keepsake
You buy furnishings in shops or bring them back from expeditions. Even a single designer shoe from the mall's luxury section can go straight into your room as it is. Sell it for Credits or keep it as a reminder of that exact run. It is a neat way to build the sell-or-keep question into an extraction game.
New decorating tools
- Advanced Placement Mode: position and rotate items freely.
- Attach Mode: put objects directly on walls and ceilings.
- Group Mode: move several objects together as one set.
- Auto Snap: line items up automatically.
You can also customise your suitcase with different skins.
Furniture that matters
The key part: your furniture is now tied to your character's morning routine. The rank of your bed and desk determines your rest and learning levels, which shape both how the routine plays out and what it rewards. Credits from expeditions go into better furniture, and better furniture sets you up for the next expedition.
