Season 1 of Mistfall Hunter is winding down, and Bellring Games has now laid out what gets reset for Season 2 and what stays.

It is not a full wipe: Bellring calls it a "partial reset with progressive returns", and for many players it should be fairer than feared.

Why there is a reset at all

Without a reset, stashes would overflow over time and the thrill of finding something valuable in a match would be gone. The alternative would be artificially cutting drop rates or extraction chances, which is exactly what Bellring wants to avoid. On top of that, everyone should start a new season from a roughly similar line.

What stays

  • All characters with their appearance, level, skills and talent points
  • Outfits and cosmetics, Fate Coins, Soul Coins, Moonlight Nectar, Star Silver and Starsilver Spindles
  • Unlocked core features and friends
  • The shop, Auction House, Collection Pedestal with its upgrades and your Watchtower level
  • Story progress, contract reward unlock progress and Pip's Gift

Contract Sigils convert 1 to 1 into Faded Contract Sigils. The old contract stays around as long as it still has unclaimed rewards.

What gets reset and converted

Gyldenblod, Echoes of Fate, Soul Cocoons, every item in your inventory and warehouse, Combat Bags and Soulcatch Nets are converted into Contribution. Warehouse upgrades themselves stay, only the contents get settled.

Camp building levels are reset as well: Goddess Statue, Gylden Pool, Tavern, Workshop, Scavenger Squad and Soulcatch Tree. You get Contribution based on their level. The key detail: rare materials like Stardust Blooms or Celestigold that you already spent do not need to be spent again when you rebuild. The Soulcatch Tree also takes on a completely new form in Season 2, with new materials.

Fateweaver Shop and Path of Glory

Contribution converts into Fateweaver Shop tokens on a tiered scale. The higher the bracket, the worse the rate, which shrinks the gap between heavy and light players, though more Contribution still means more tokens. The shop offers Pip's Rare Pouches, Combat Bags, Holy Soulcatch Nets and two exclusive Season 1 keepsakes, among other things.

Your starting Path of Glory tier is based on your final Season 1 standing, with higher tiers compressed a little.

More loot in Season 2

Maybe the best news comes at the end: Bellring admits drop rates in Season 1 were too stingy. Season 2 adds more loot containers to every map and higher odds of valuable items from containers and monsters. In the community AMA at the end of September, the studio had also announced a new seasonal mode with less grind for the exchange shop and a shard system for key upgrade materials.

Until Season 1 ends, the Blood and Fire preview event is running, where you follow a ballad and earn Moonlight Nectar plus an exclusive earring. Bellring has not given a fixed start date for Season 2 yet.
