Red Rover Interactive is rolling the trains back out: Enginefall gets its first Closed Community Playtest since Steam Next Fest, running September 24 to 28.

The catch: only players who already have access can join, and no new spots are being handed out this time.

Who gets to play

The test is exclusively for players who already have Enginefall in their Steam library from a previous playtest. Once the servers open, you can jump straight back in. No new access is granted as part of this test.

If you are not in yet, you will have to wait for a later round. The studio promises more chances to play and suggests wishlisting Enginefall and joining the Discord.

What has changed since Next Fest

According to Red Rover, the team went through the Next Fest feedback closely: how people played, what worked and what did not. That led to new ideas and some significant changes behind the scenes. The studio is not getting specific yet, with release notes and more test details promised closer to launch.

Before that: an AMA on Discord

The day before the test, on September 23 at 5 PM CET, CEO Fred and Tom, Director of Product and Live Operations, will answer questions on the official Discord. Questions are collected in advance, so if you want to know where the giant megatrains are headed, get yours in early.
